Podcast: Black Americans and the Stock Market: Why & How We Must Trade and Invest

Friday, July 23, 2021

“Low African-American participation in the stock market contributes to the widening wealth gap between black and white households." Studies show that African Americans are 35 percent less likely to take part in the stock market as compared to the members of the white community with the same income. In this show, we focus on ways to encourage African American participation in the stock market—particularly by young people--and barriers (real or perceived) to participation. We will be joined by J.R. Fenwick who teaches stock market education.
